The Boo Klub hasn't even started yet, and it's a wrap!
Just a note for all you Jarheads that I'll be posting the debut installment of the Heart in a Jar Boo Klub tomorrow, so get your thoughts and adroit observations ready to share about Whitley Streiber's The Wolfen. Since the 13th is the day that I announce the Boo of the Month, here's the heads-up to get searching for Bram Stoker's The Jewel of Seven Stars, our April title. There's not an awful lot of mummy fiction out there, and this 1903 effort from Stoker was recently re-issued by Penguin Classics in a edition that restores the ending that was altered in 1912 to create a "happier ending" demanded by the publisher - one that may or may not have been written by Stoker, who was ill at the time. You can make the case that all mummy movies spring from this novel, but the two truest adaptations have been Hammer's Blood From the Mummy's Tomb and the 1980 Charlton Heston effort, The Awakening (directed by Mike Newell, ready to return to cinemas this May with Prince of Persia). So watch out in April...here comes the Easter Mummy!

Okay, just went over to PaperBackSwap.com and ordered a copy of this book. Hope it's good! :)
Senski: If I wasn't so involved in my own 'reading projects' at the moment, I'd totally be down. Hopefully a little later I'll be able to jump in. Good luck getting this off the ground!
