In the late '80s/early '90s I worked in a used bookstore and we sold these books by the dozen. I feel the same nostalgia for those insane covers! I even started my own blog on the stuff, Too Much Horror Fiction. Will Erricksonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16285306262078600804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-143329265106812387.post-78868035107001280892010-08-08T07:34:55.783-05:002010-08-08T07:34:55.783-05:00Thanks, AiGD. Things at my B&N have gotten even worse, as the last three months they've only bothered to stock one of the two titles that Leisure publishes every month, and I've had to go hunting for the other. What up with that?

PS - 80s Brit Pop - Yes!senskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15469603484774090192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-143329265106812387.post-25741270735632100252010-08-08T04:26:54.453-05:002010-08-08T04:26:54.453-05:00Thanks for writing about this. Sad. I miss writers like Ruby Jean Jensen. Nobody could write a book about demon-possessed dolls better than Ruby !KenPaul66https://www.blogger.com/profile/06077626184920368907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-143329265106812387.post-56049443396784401702009-12-04T06:15:01.737-06:002009-12-04T06:15:01.737-06:00My dad still has every one of my paperbacks at my ...My dad still has every one of my paperbacks at my parents' house - seven bookcases, books shelved two or three deep, piled high on top. Easily over 3000 titles. One of my Jar goals for 2010 is to relocate these to my place (three hours away) and start scanning the covers and posting reviews. Many of these books have zero presence on the Interweb, and the Jar is all about preserving! Thanks, guys!senskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15469603484774090192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-143329265106812387.post-40388075695686846282009-12-04T01:07:58.650-06:002009-12-04T01:07:58.650-06:00Senski, that was a rockin' remeberance of the ...Senski, that was a rockin' remeberance of the heyday of paperback chillers! Back in the late '70s and early '80s, while my mom would be shopping in our local supermarket or Bradlees or Sears or whatever, I'd always go off and wait for her in the book racks. I used to love looking at the covers for these books. Always plenty of skull or creepy doll covers to be found! It's sad that horror fiction has become such a niche thing over the past few decades because, like you say, it used to be front and center in the mainstream.Jeff Allardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04265550466781988388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-143329265106812387.post-47237177702739398372009-11-30T23:27:23.061-06:002009-11-30T23:27:23.061-06:00Thanks, r/e!
